I thought I was ordering a normal coffee. What arrived was a tiny, mysterious cup of dark liquid.

“It’s so small,” I thought. “I’ll just drink it in one go.”

Big mistake. I had just downed a triple ristretto. Within five minutes, I could hear colors, feel sounds, and my hands were shaking so fast they blurred.
I walked through Rome at double speed, probably breaking the human walking record, and found myself at the Colosseum an hour earlier than planned.

Lesson learned: sip espresso. Do not chug espresso.
